PENTAGRAM

Note: No relation to the American doom metal band, Pentagram .

Having been formed in 1986, Pentagram (now known internationally as Mezarkabul to avoid confusion with the aforementioned American band, though they are still known as Pentagram in their home country) has toiled in their native Turkey for years, releasing two albums in the early nineties. But their third album, Anatolia, garnered worldwide acclaim for the band, and deservedly so. Anatolia is a mature, polished, traditional metal album, with traces of bands such as Quennsyrche, Alice In Chains (rarely), and Megadeath (more freqently), and some noticeable Middle Eastern melodies as well. A very well-done album, and hopefully a precursor to future greatness.

Since Anatolia, two newer albums have been released, these being Unspoken* and *Bir. The former was released worldwide under the Mezarkabul banner, while the latter has been (at least up to now) only released as a Pentagram album
